Wael Abbas, the Egyptian online blogger, has been nominated as the #1 People of the Year in the Middle East. If you have been keeping in touch with news or at least reading my blog you should know Wael Abbas uses his blog to show police brutality video and pictures in Egypt.

If you have been reading news lately, you might know that Wael Abbas, a journalist who posted videos about police brutality and tutored in Egypt. He got his account shut down on YouTube and few other websites such as Yahoo. After a week of international pressure, YouTube finally agrees to restore his account. Here’s the YouTube official response to Fox News:
“Having reviewed the case, we have restored the account of Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas — and if he chooses to upload the video again with sufficient context so that users can understand his important message we will of course leave it on the site.”

Well, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah made a speech on the Arab Summit in which he says about the US occupation on Iraq that it is “illegitimate occupation”. That impressed me because Saudi Arabia used to support USA especially on the beginning of the invasion in which Baghdad fall in the hand of the allies. I hope Arab leaders will start realizing the truth behind all the american army presence on the gulf and middle east.
