Today is the day of Muslims’ Eid ul-Adha religious festival. In this Eid some Muslims go to Haj (pilgrimage) in Mecca to worship and get closer to God. Others celebrate the Eid by visiting relatives and friends.

Or should I say Chanukkah? Spelling doesn’t matter. Different parts of the world has different spellings but the word Hanukkah in Jewish means “dedication”. Today is December 12, the last day of Hanukkah Festival.
Hanukkah, aka Festival of Light, is an annual 8 days Jewish holiday to celebrate and to commemorate the rededication of the Second Temple which was burned by the Greek empire. The temple was located in the occupied Palastine territory. This festival involves 8 candles each one is lighten-up in each of the Hanukkah holiday.
I do not celebrate this festival but it is nice to know other’s culture and festivals.
If you have been reading news lately, you might know that Wael Abbas, a journalist who posted videos about police brutality and tutored in Egypt. He got his account shut down on YouTube and few other websites such as Yahoo. After a week of international pressure, YouTube finally agrees to restore his account. Here’s the YouTube official response to Fox News:
“Having reviewed the case, we have restored the account of Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas — and if he chooses to upload the video again with sufficient context so that users can understand his important message we will of course leave it on the site.”
It is not that I like Halloween or I celebrate it. FYI, I don’t celebrate it. It is just I want to say and post something. Haven’t been reading my RSS feeds for 4 days now and it is packed with 1997 articles so far. I have to read them all in Sunday because I have an exam tomorrow and another in Saturday and more in Sunday. I also have to submit E-Learning homework on Saturday which will take very long time to write. I wonder how I’ll study for Sunday’s subject. Anyway, my estimation of number of feed articles will be waiting for me on Sunday around 3500 to 4000 feeds to read since my feeds produces on average 500 articles per day and half of that on weekends.
By chance 1997 is the year I start diving in the world of I.T. and programming. Such nice days when I was an 11 years old kid surfing web pages when GIFs animations fills web pages all over the web.
Anti-Phishing Phil is an interactive game that teaches users how to identify phishing URLs, where to look for cues in web browsers, and how to use search engines to find legitimate sites.
Our user studies have found that user education can help prevent people from falling for phishing attacks. However, it is hard to get users to read security tutorials, and many of the available online training materials make users aware of the phishing threat but do not provide them with enough information to protect themselves. Our studies demonstrate that Anti-Phishing Phil is an effective approach to user education.
I did only one mistake through the whole game. I think that’s a good solution.
